Another Open Letter to the Ethics Commission
Dear Mr. St. Croix,
I regret to inform you that another independent expenditure was done over the weekend by the Police Officers Association. Additionally there is a pole sign and another piece of literature that I am attaching for more evidence of the massive unreported expenditures occurring in District 6. I urge you to call an emergency meeting of the Ethics Commission to lift the cap within the next 24 hours.
Below is a resolution passed by the San Francisco Democratic Party calling on your commission to act immediately. Additionally, the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club has passed a resolution asking your commission to act. There is ample evidence that the cap has been blown and Supervisor Daly needs to be able to defend himself from these unprecedented attacks. We urge you to lift the cap as irreparable harm is being done to his candidacy. Inaction by your commission only worsens this problem.
Thanks in advance for your work.
Sincerely,
Robert Haaland

They got the voting date wrong on the last piece.

Yeah. I know. But I wasn’t going to tell them either. If they tell Anti-Daly people to vote on November 11th, well, you know.

Is the phrase “black and white” some kind of coded talk as well as a pun on a candidate’s name?

P.S. Isn’t it improper to misinform voters no matter who’s being misinformed?

yes. you are, of course, right. it is improper no matter who’s being misinformed.

Daly is a douche bag

Of course, I expect that Robert Haaland will, in the interest of fairness, also demand that Chris Daly cease using his City-funded and hosted blog to attack his politival rivals.
And to investigate Daly’s appointment of his old roommate Richard Marquez to a job at the Dept. of Building Inspection, even though the department determined that Marquez was unqualified for the job.

Hi there, From what I understand, both (letters and blog) were vetted with the City Attorney and got the stamp of approval. That said, to compare the two seems absurd. There have been 3 independent expenditures totalling over $60,000. There have been three long polls (undeclared) which probably cost about 15 grand each. Then all the SFSOS activity, meaning street signs, web sites, various pieces of literature that has not been reported. They have spent at least 150 grand in this race. It boggles the mind that you would suggest that $500 of letters that was vetted by the City Attorney is the same.
As for Richard Marquez, I don’t know the circumstances of his employment, but given his work on SRO’s and habitability, I am sure that he is qualified for the position.
