Important message from the How Weird Street Faire:

The How Weird Street Fair needs your help!

On Febuary 8th, the How Weird Street Fair, a 10,000 person festival celebrating the art and culture of San Francisco, appeared before ISCOTT to renew its permit for this year’s fair to be held on May 6, 2007. This request was rejected despite the 100% safety record of the event. The reasons cited were neighborhood opposition, and a small group of neighbors have registered complaints about the fair. We are committed to reaching out to this small group of neighbors, but we also are deeply committed to this fair and the vast majority of local neighbors who support it.

There is an appeal hearing at 10am on Thursday Feb. 22, 2007 at 1 South Van Ness Avenue on the 7th Floor. The public is invited to attend.

Here’s how you can help:

Below is a draft letter that you can use to write the Department of Parking and Traffic, the appeal body for the How Weird Street Fair permit. Please sign, date, and email or fax the letter to Cindy Shamban no later than Tuesday, February 20th. The contact info is…
