Summer of Love 40th Anniversary (edit this)
The Summer of Love’s 40th Anniversary Celebration was blessed with blue skies, wonderful music and lots of dancing people. The crowd was loudest for Country Joe McDonald who made the comparison to the unpopular war in 1967 and the unpopular war in 2007.
Assemblymember Mark Leno was the only politican to speak to the crowd. But supporters of Cindy Sheehan for Assembly, Ron Paul for President, John Edwards for President were there. George Davis in his birthday suit was there to get votes for Mayor.
Several groups created their own music at the back of the celebration.
An elder who had been at the original Summer of Love remembered a lot more frisbees and less hula hoops at the original celebration. But what was out is now in fashion. Several groups of people were doing hula hoops.
These sisters were starting their new band with these pipes and new hats.
Our group which included four teachers had bubbles-and several of the crowd’s youngest attendees were fascinated and had to try them out.
Here are three generations of one family, all enjoying the great music, the great weather and time with one another.
Ms. Jade Mar, a true fashionista, created her own hat with a collection of other people’s hats.
Sally Buchmann of Pride At Work had a beautiful parasol.
This parasol was also gorgeous and helped keep out the sun.
Another parasol was this gorgeous purple one.
And one more-in a beautiful deep orange.

Roger well Gurudas has a nice sound too. It was a joy to meet you. I have a picture of Cindy on one of the portrait pages. On the bottom of the url http://ranchobozo.com/summer you’ll see a little video of you toward the end of the day. Please send me an email ranchobozo@hotmail.com. I’ll write back. Check out the cyber backpack. These are photos from an obsolete kodak instimatic camera with an easy loading slide film cartridge just a little smaller than 35mm. I took these pictures in Kathmandu. I feel like I’ve known you and Cindy for years. May be you might want to write a picture story story for email in bottle. Your pal Captain Wayne - Ravi Ganga Nanda
