Internet 4 Everyone: Public Forum
When: Tuesday, September 20 2005 @ 07:00 PM PDT - 08:30PM
Where: San Francisco Public Utilities Commission
1155 Market St. (across from UN Plaza),
(BART and MUNI at Civic Center Station)
San Francisco, CA
Description: We want Internet 4 Everyone!

Why are we paying so much to access the Internet?
Why doesn’t everyone in SF have access to the Internet?
Comcast and SBC are the gatekeepers;
San Francisco needs viable alternatives.

San Francisco is considering providing universal access to the Internet as a public utility, much like water. Across the country, cities and towns are doing the same to lower rates for everyone and expand usage by low-income communities.

What do you want from such a program?
- Affordable, high-speed Internet
- Affordable computers for low-income families
- Free community-based training

Come to a meeting this Tuesday September 20 at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to learn more about this project and to tell City officials what’s needed.

Join the Community Technology Foundation of California, Common Assets, Media Alliance, and others at this meeting!
