The City and County of San Francisco use block grant funds from HUD to fund construction projects throughout the City. The total of the funds were $2,461,619.

On Monday, they released a preliminary list which will be finalized next. The construction projects involving public schools are:

1. Chinese Education Center, 657 Merchant-Installation of collapsible play components, portable basketball hoop, sun canopy and wood fencing. Estimated cost of the project-$50,010

2. E.R. Taylor Elementary School, 423 Burrows-Replacement of a play structure and safety matting. Estimated cost of the project-$76,830

3. Glen Park ES, 151 Lippard Avenue-Installation of a play structure, safety matting, planter boxes, benches, tables and canopy over the benches. Estimated cost-$99,850

4. John Muir ES, 380 Webster-Installation of a play ground structure and safety matting. Estimated cost-$63,750

5. Mission CDC-Replacement of a new play structure and safety matting, benches, tables and trellis. Estimated cost-$101,000
