Kim’s Moving to Washington DC/Baltimore (edit this)
Next week, I will be moving to the DC/Baltimore area for a new job as the community outreach manager for a DC-area utility.
So Leftinsf will be the first San Francisco-based blog to have a reporter posting the news of the Congress and Senate from slightly outside of the Beltway (approximately 30 miles).

Kim, I wish you all success in your new job. I know we’ll miss your energy and devotion to SF public school students.

Thank you, Kim, for your ceaseless efforts on behalf of SF kids over these past few years. You have been there, at seemingly every SFUSD related event, without fail.
No one has come close to your record of being there, reporting, caring, and committing yourself to our schools and our kids. You always give of yourself with a true heart and a genuinely progressive voice.
Congratulations and good luck on your new adventure.

Thank you, Rachel and KC for all of the work that you do each and every day for our public school kids!!

Thank you so very very much for moving away! Now stop bothering us with your uninformed and badly-researched demagoguery. Good riddance.

Kim,
I just wanted to thank you for posting notes of the SF school board minutes over the years and for all the work you do for working-class children in San Francisco. The board notes were very helpful and informative to many of us.
I know we disagree on some issues, but I applaud you for your hard work and dedication. Good luck in Washington DC/Baltimore. I look forward to your postings from there, I hope you can dig up an interesting material.

i’m fucking glad that you’re leaving. your extreme left ideas are partly why SFUSD is in such shambles. It goes to show that liberals do not think with any reason or logic. They have no clue how to run things.

Kim, I have really come to admire the tireless energy and commitment you’ve devoted to our community’s children and public schools over the years. While we’ve had our (many?) disagreements over various points, your volunteerism has benefited children and schools, and your commitment has been a model and an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for all you’ve done.

I’d like to second KC’s remarks - I’ve never personally knwon anyone else with the kind of devotion to public school children that Kim manifests. It’s exemplary. I’m going to use her departure as a nudge to myself to pull up my socks and start participating in the life of the public grade school in my neighborhood.
Many thanks and best of luck to you, Kim!

Thank you, Carling and Caroline for your kind words! And thank all of the great work that you have done for our public school students, Caroline. And Carling, any public school would be very lucky to have you as their volunteer!

Hey Kim,
It’s been great working with you. Looking forward to your stories about the state of progressive politics in the DC.
Take care.
