FYI: From the Sandra Fewer Campaign

On Wednesday, June 25, Sandra Lee Fewer kicks off her campaign for
school board at the historic Cathay House Restaurant, 718 California Street
(at Grant), in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with
elected officials scheduled to speak at 6:40 p.m., followed by lion dancers at
7:10 p.m.
Sandra Lee Fewer, a fourth generation Chinese-American whose three
children attended San Francisco public schools, has worked on issues of
public education for over 20 years. Currently, she is the Director of Education
Policy and Parent Organizing at Coleman Advocates for Youth, a leading
non-profit organization in San Francisco.
“It is an honor for me to begin my campaign in Chinatown—the place
where I was born,” Sandra Lee Fewer said. “My campaign will focus on
advocating for policies that raise the standards of education for all of our
children. I will work to close the achievement gap for underperforming
students by implementing a community-based approach to education where
students, parents, teachers and school administrators share equally in the
responsibility for the education of our youth.”
Sandra Lee Fewer has been endorsed by Public Defender Jeff Adachi,
President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors Aaron Peskin,
Supervisors Tom Ammiano, Chris Daly, Bevan Dufty, Jake McGoldrick, Ross
Mirkarimi and President of the School Board Mark Sanchez, and School
Board Members Jane Kim, Eric Mar, Norman Yee, and Kim-Shree Maufas.
